I am not a fan of Justin Trudeau, but as long as Polievre is your leader, I will vote Liberal just to make sure that such a divisive individual does not take over the country.

It's not just women that loathe Poilievre and the CPC, check out the data: the more education one is exposed to, the less likely they are to vote CPC. Throw in the disgust toward Poilievre personally and take a look at his or Danielle Smith's policy priorities and ask yourself this question? Do the "conservatives" [Whatever you call the "big-C" parties these days they are not Progressive Conservatives.] ever consider what may have become of the conservative movement had it taken a Lougheed turn rather . . . evolving into some form of Trump-loving, hate spewing, 'I hate the Canada we have now,' recidivists? By that I mean Mulroney's paper envelopes full of $1,000 bills, Harper's team being convicted of election misdoings, Dean Del Mastro going to jail . . .

I think I am a conservative Canadian: 75 years old, University educated, born and bred Albertan and I absolutely despise what the conservative movement in Canada has become. Convince me I am wrong?

I think the author was overly optimistic about the chances to reclaim the Winnipeg South Center seat last night. Winnipeg South is not a swing seat.

The late Jim Carr was a highly regarded politician in Winnipeg who was able to bring people together across party lines to get things done. His presence in the Manitoba Liberal caucus is sadly missed.

That his son would step into the fray to carry on his father’s legacy is a hint that the Liberal base in Winnipeg was serious and ran a family dynasty ticket with name recognition. The CPC candidate had a very steep uphill battle.

I would consider voting Conservative if appealing policies and candidates were on offer, but their current leader comes off as a mean, sour bean-counter who know the price of everything and the value of nothing. And I want to see ALL candidates stop trying to buy our votes with a chump-change tax cut. I realize that politicians are as human and fallible as anyone else, but don’t they realize that when they approach us on that basis it’s an insult? Do they really see us, and expect us to see ourselves, as that cheap and petty?

I feel like a CPC led by Erin O'Toole or Michael Chong would be way ahead in the polls. People are very tired of the Liberals but many don't trust Pierre Poilievre.

Bernier getting 17% of the vote in his riding suggests that Poilievre flanking right has turned off swing voters but hasn't sufficiently decimated the PPC.

It's incredible how much misinformation you put in this article, which really just shows you're now an attack dog against the CPC and Pierre's team. There was no way CPC would ever win the two Liberal ridings, one with Jim Carr's son and the other won by LPC's former national president, and any calculation about Oxford has to take into account the contentious nomination process of an outsider from Brampton.

Here's the facts:

1. You are clearly hellbent on damaging the Conservative Party;

2. You are clearly on the Erin O'Toole team and are sour about how real conservatives saw through him and kicked him out; and

3. You are proof that RINOs exist in Canada and that there really is Deep State with people who are trying to push a Uniparty onto Canada at every level.

We see through you DeLorey. We know the games you are playing.

As long as support for queer people is not 100%, I can't ever vote for Conservatives. It's too much of a safety risk for people I love. I dislike Trudeau a lot and have a lot of concerns about cost of living issues but until I can guarantee life won't get more difficult for my trans friends/family, the Conservative Party is simply not a credible option.

As long as PP is the leader, you are toast. You will never get any donations from me or all of my friends. We will even vote NDP or Green but will not vote CPC. PP needs cut to size - useless and divisive and Trumpian.

Just to - laugh - update Mr. DeLorey:

I posted the comment I made here on the National Post comment thread: 'What the heck is going on?': Poilievre's strategy gets hard look after uninspiring byelections ...

I recommend reading the thread. It took an hour or so but ... I have been banned and the thread says "CONTENT DEACTIVATED." - laugh again - I think the thread here and on the Post sort of prove the points I was trying to make? Prove me wrong? Again?

One correction. Liberals held Oxford from 1993 to 2004.
