Hey folks,
Life has its ways of reminding us about what's truly important. As much as I've been engrossed in the political ebbs and flows, this weekend my attention will be focused on the soccer field where my daughter's team will be battling for victory.
After missing my oldest son's birthday three years in a row due to political events—2016's CPC national convention, the 2017 CPC leadership race, and the 2018 Ontario general election—I've come to realize that some things can't be postponed. So, while I won't be at the Conservative Convention this year, I will be sharing my insights on CBC’s “Power & Politics” Friday evening and on CBC's "The House" on Saturday morning.
But let's get to why you're really here. My latest piece on iPolitics, "Landslide Ahead? What to Expect from the Conservative Convention," delves into what could be a historical turning point for Canadian politics. If you're curious about the strategy and soul-searching within the Conservative Party under Pierre Poilievre's leadership, you won't want to miss it.
This isn't just another political gathering. This is a meticulously planned gala of strategy, aimed at not just winning an election, but at fundamentally altering the Conservative Party's future. The convention could very well be the harbinger of a new era, one that could see the party winning not just a majority but potentially a landslide in the next general election.
Again, you can read it all here.
Thank you for being an invaluable part of this journey. Your thoughts and opinions mean the world to me, and as always, feel free to share this article with anyone who would appreciate a deeper look into the nuances of Canadian politics.
Warm regards,
Fred
